The Difference Between Being “Not Racist” and Antiracist

In an interview with TED, Ibram X. Kendi, award-winning author of How To Be An Antiracist and a Phil Lind Initiative speaker for our 2020 series Thinking While Black, defines the transformative concept of antiracism and what it means to unpack the racist rhetoric in both White and Non-Black communities. Kendi goes on to emphasize the importance of implementing an antiracist rhetoric in analyzing public policies, workplace environments, and individual beliefs.
