Jarrett Martineau is a creative multi-hyphenate and a leading voice in Indigenous music, media, and cultural production. He holds an M.A. and Ph.D. in Indigenous Governance from UVic and was a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at Columbia University. His scholarly research and writing examine Indigenous art as emergent forms of political communication, and he curates Indigenous-led events at UBC’s Chan Centre, VIFF and Indian Summer Festival. Creator and host of CBC’s award-winning Reclaimed, he has also co-founded numerous projects including Revolutions Per Minute, SoundON, the Imaginarium series and RISE for VICELAND. Jarrett is nêhiyaw (Plains Cree) and Denesųłiné from Frog Lake Cree Nation in Alberta, currently based in Vancouver.
